Artist Chuck McPherson is featured in the Salon of the St, Clair Gallery. We're still hanging some of his work, more infornation to come.

Live Painting . . .

Chuck will be doing a live painting demonstration at the artists' reception on March 21, from 3:00 to 5:30 PM. The demo piece will be the subject of a drawing following the demonstration. This is a great opportunity to own an original McPherson for the investment of only a few drawing tickets.

At right is a watercolor on paper by Chuck, Solitude, a 18 by 24 inch piece valued at $756.00. The work is available during the 17th Invitational Exhibit.

Artists' Inspiration . . .
A quiet afternoon. A lazy stream meandering through boulders that stand as silent guardians of stories from long ago. This watercolor was an interpretation of a photograph taken by fellow SDMA Guild member, Joe Darin, for a two-person show of ours where we did the same scene in our own style and hung them next to one another. The audience was very intrigued and we had some VERY interesting conversations come out of the idea. Joe and I will plan another show with the same format for next year...

Chuck will host his work at the artists' reception for the 17th El Cajon Invitational Art Exhibit on March 21, 2010 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. The reception is open to the public and admission is FREE!

16th Invitational Art Exhibit & Reception

Above is the front lobby of the Gallery with the oil paintings of local artist Ski Torzeski. Ski is exhibiting three pieces in the 16th Invitational that are high caliber works with appropriate price tags. At left artist Phebe Burnham prepares to entertain guests in her Personal Gallery. Two of her enchanting works are behind her. She is showing nine pieces in her Gallery. 

Phebe is known throughout East County's artistic circles as one of "our finest." She has been contributing to the art scene since the 1950's and had followers all over the United States.

Phebe continually sought after to do commissions in oil and soft pastels.
